Custom APIs and Existing API Development
We build data models, API endpoints, access controls, and backend business logic for web applications, mobile clients, and internal tools.
For an existing API, we investigate errors, slow queries, missed updates, and code that is difficult to change. We fix individual components, extend functionality, refactor, or plan a phased replacement.

AI Integration Services for Applications and Workflows
We connect OpenAI and Claude APIs to your data and business logic. Possible workflows include knowledge-base answers, document processing, request classification, draft responses, and ticket creation.
Before implementation, we define the data the model can access, the actions it can take, and where staff approval is required. We evaluate quality using examples of your tasks and plan for errors and human handoffs. Model usage costs are separate from development fees.
You can start with one workflow and clear evaluation criteria, then extend the solution based on how it performs.

UnveilYou: An Education Platform Backend
We developed a platform with a Next.js and React frontend and a Symfony backend API. The solution combines learning, a member dashboard, progress tracking, video, payments, and a community. The project uses Keycloak, Stripe, Mux, and Discourse.
It demonstrates backend development and work with several connected systems within one product.
Desert Bloom: Site Search Through a REST API
As part of a WordPress rebuild, we implemented a search endpoint covering treatments, skin concerns, articles, and topics. The implementation includes synonyms, caching, and cache updates when content changes.
This is an example of a focused API feature within an existing website.
How We Choose a Solution and Control Costs
First, we check what your systems already support. We then compare suitable options: connecting an existing service, deploying an open-source solution on your infrastructure, or developing the required functionality.
We account for implementation and ongoing costs: subscriptions, hosting, external APIs, updates, and support. An integration's operating cost may depend on event volume, repeated calls, and data processing. When comparing savings, we show the calculation and its assumptions.
We propose an architecture around your current task and development plans. If you prefer a more complex solution for greater control, infrastructure consistency, or capacity for growth, we explain the alternatives and costs, then implement the chosen approach.
Development Costs and Timelines
$90/hour is our standard rate for estimating design, implementation, testing, documentation, and launch.
Once the scope of a project or phase is defined, we provide a fixed-price estimate. Exceeding our internal estimate of hours does not, by itself, increase your bill. Individual tasks can be billed hourly; additional requirements are estimated before work begins.
Effort depends on the number of systems, API and documentation quality, business rules, data volume, exchange direction, and any historical data migration. Load, availability, data protection, and operational requirements also affect the price.
If a paid technical assessment is required for an estimate, we describe its deliverable and cost in advance. Subscriptions, infrastructure, and third-party API usage are separate from development fees.
A small integration may take 1–2 weeks after the task is defined and access is provided. More complex systems are planned in phases, with dates accounting for dependencies and time for your team's review.
Reliability, Availability, and Data Protection
Included in Every Project
Our baseline quality standard includes:
- defined inputs, expected outputs, and acceptance criteria;
- necessary data and access checks, and protection of secret keys;
- predictable error handling and the ability to investigate causes;
- checks of the main workflow and significant failure cases;
- verification in the deployment environment;
- code, access, and documentation sufficient to use and maintain the solution.
Correct Data Exchange
For the specific workflow, we select protection against unwanted duplicate actions, queues, retries, record reconciliation, and recovery of unfinished operations. We define expected behavior when a receiving system is unavailable, data is invalid, or events arrive out of order.
Availability and Load
Before selecting infrastructure, we establish acceptable downtime and identify critical functions. Where a target availability level is required, we assess the architecture, redundancy, monitoring, and support needed to pursue it.
The target, measurement period and method, responsibilities, and SLA terms are agreed separately. API availability and the success of an end-to-end workflow involving an external CRM, telephony platform, or AI provider are considered separately. Incident response times are defined in support terms.
Additional redundancy and load testing are scoped to project requirements. If round-the-clock support is required, it is described separately in support terms. Before handover, we show the results of planned checks; operational availability is measured through monitoring after launch.
Personal and Health Data
Where an integration processes personal or health data, we account for applicable GDPR and HIPAA requirements during design. We define access controls, encryption, logging, retention and deletion, and whether data may be sent to external services and AI providers.
Infrastructure selection accounts for required provider agreements and the responsibilities of each party. Mandatory data-protection requirements remain applicable at any budget; technical measures form part of the broader compliance process.
Deployment and Updates
Cloud, Serverless, or Your Infrastructure
We can deploy in the cloud, use serverless services, or work within your company's existing infrastructure. The choice depends on the workload, data requirements, and your team's operational capabilities.
Cloudflare Workers is one option for a suitable small API. We assess the plan, limits, database, file storage, and external services for the specific project.
Containerization
We use Docker where a reproducible development, testing, and production environment is needed, along with portability between environments. Containers may not be necessary for a suitable serverless implementation.
CI/CD and Rollback
We can configure automated builds, checks, and releases through CI/CD; separate test and production environments; and provide release approval and rollback procedures. Data changes need their own migration and recovery plan: rolling back code may not be enough.
The project documents infrastructure and updates so responsibility for releases and maintenance after launch is clear.
Cost Controls Under Load and During Failures
We review operations that could sharply increase resource use: bulk data queries, repeated calls, background jobs, and paid API requests. We select request and retry limits, available quotas, and cost alerts.
A budget alert does not, by itself, stop charges. We therefore define the provider's available controls, who responds to an alert, and which operations can be paused. These decisions account for availability requirements: stopping expenditure may stop some functionality.

Anton Byvshev leads iQyra's architecture, technical decisions, implementation, and verification. He has more than 20 years of software development experience.
In teams at previous employers, he worked on APIs for a major bank's online mortgage platform. His experience also includes the backend of a high-load platform tracking around one billion product records across approximately one thousand stores.

Understand the task
We review systems, documentation, sample data, and constraints. For an existing solution, we examine the code and known issues.

Agree on the result and price
The proposal defines functionality, technical requirements, acceptance criteria, stages, timelines, and scope boundaries.

Develop in stages
We show working scenarios as they become available. Two rounds of revisions per stage are included before launch, within the approved direction.

Test and launch
We carry out the test plan, deploy, and verify the solution in production. On client-managed infrastructure, we follow the agreed access and release arrangements.

Hand over the project
You receive the project-specific code, repository, API documentation, configuration, and operating and recovery instructions. Accounts are set up with your ownership and access; third-party licenses and pre-existing tools are identified in the proposal.
A 30-day defect-fix warranty applies after acceptance of the launched project, against its acceptance criteria. Further development is available as individual tasks. Ongoing support starts at $1,000/month, with defined scope, responsibilities, and response times. SLA requirements are assessed separately within support arrangements.

Do We Need to Choose Protocols and Technologies First?+
No. Describe the systems and required actions, and we'll propose a suitable approach. We work with REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and WebSockets, and can account for existing interfaces such as SOAP.
Can We Start Without a Technical Specification?+
Yes. In the first discussion, we help clarify the task and determine whether there is enough information for an estimate or whether the existing solution needs assessment first.
What If a Third-Party Service Doesn't Provide the API We Need?+
We check its supported exchange methods: available API endpoints, webhooks, imports, and exports. If the required action is unavailable, we propose a process change or another integration approach and explain its limitations.
Can We Start with One Integration and Expand Gradually?+
Yes. We define the first useful workflow and dependencies for future phases. Additional connections and features can be separate projects; if requirements change, we assess the architectural changes needed.
